CNY Costumes was established in the year 2000 and incorporated in 2004 by Debra and Ron Ritchey. Debra began costuming for local school shows in the early nineties, first as a parent volunteer and ultimately as a professional costumer. During this developmental period, Debra also owned and operated a successful custom design bridal business.

Savvy enough to know it takes many "behind-the-scenes" talented and dedicated people to make any theatrical undertaking a success, Debra has searched out and developed a specialized crew including seamstresses, crafters, artists, carpenters, engineers and puppeteers all of whom are proud to have contributed to the building of such shows as “Alice in Wonderland”, “Wizard of Oz”, Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast”, Ziegfeld's "Will Rogers Follies" and our latest creation Audrey II from "Little Shop of Horrors". Debra or “Debbie” as friends and colleagues know her, has a true love of the performing arts. Her love of creating costumes is what initially drew her to the business, but it is her care for people that keeps her there.

CNY Costumes now inhabits a 5,500 square foot facility that houses thousands of costumes, as well as props, set pieces and wigs. We pride ourselves on the top quality products and personal service that we supply our valued customers.
